KAPWA! FILIPINO CLUB

Honoring our roots. Sharing our stories. Building an inclusive community.

Kapwa! Filipino Club is a welcoming community college organization dedicated to exploring and celebrating the richness of Filipino culture, history, traditions, and lived experiences. Rooted in kapwa—the recognition of our shared identity and humanity—the club welcomes students who trace their roots to the Philippines, those exploring their Filipino heritage, and anyone interested in learning about, appreciating, and engaging with Filipino culture.

Through cultural activities, storytelling, dialogue, educational events, and community engagement, Kapwa! Filipino Club aims to foster cultural pride, mutual respect, and cross-cultural understanding while encouraging meaningful connections. Guided by Filipino values such as bayanihan (collective action and community solidarity), malasakit (compassionate care), and pakikipagkapwa (relating to others with respect and shared humanity), we embrace the Filipino spirit of treating others like family. The club hopes to contribute to a culturally responsive and culturally sustaining educational community where diverse identities, histories, and perspectives are recognized, valued, and celebrated.
