STUDENT HOMELESS ADVOCATES CLUB (SHAC)

Welcome to the SHAC (Students Homeless Advocates Club)!

Our mission is to work independently as well as with existing non-profits to confront the homelessness crisis in both the student body and the wider community with compassion and ingenuity by offering direct support and lobbying for policy change on their behalf. 

The SRJC Student Homeless Advocates Club and all its members, before and after this day, are grateful to be part of what could very well become a movement driven by empathy, compassion, fortitude, and passion, which thrives on resilience developed through lived experiences of all descriptions. We want to inspire hope, provide valuable resources, and offer our hand of support, trust, safety, and understanding for the new and continuing students who are now or have ever been or are nearing homelessness.

We are all glad you're here. If you are in need of resources please don't hesitate to check out what SRJC has to offer. If you have questions, again, do not hesitate to reach out to any of the other members or someone you feel safe with.

Meeting times are weekly from 3pm-4:30pm in the Inter-Cultural Center., Plover Hall (neighbor to the bookstore.)
